“Feeding the Fasting, Strengthening Hope, Restoring Dignity.”Supporting vulnerable Muslim families during the blessed month of Ramadan through compassion, faith, and humanitarian solidarity.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Ramadan (Iftar) Support for Needy Muslims Project is a humanitarian and faith-based intervention aimed at addressing acute food insecurity among vulnerable Muslim populations in Arua Muslim District during the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH (2026).
Arua Muslim District is home to thousands of Muslims facing persistent socio-economic challenges, including:
• Poverty and unemployment. • Rising food prices. • Limited social protection mechanisms. • Household food insecurity During Ramadan,
these challenges become even more severe as fasting households struggle to secure adequate meals for Suhoor (pre-dawn meal) and Iftar (breaking of the fast).
This initiative seeks to ensure that vulnerable Muslims can observe Ramadan safely, peacefully, and with dignity while focusing on worship, prayer, and spiritual growth.

UNDERSTANDING RAMADAN

Muslims fast daily from dawn until sunset, refraining from food, drink, and other physical needs during daylight hours.Ramadan 1447 AH is expected to begin on the evening of Tuesday, 17 February 2026, and conclude on the evening of Wednesday, 18 March 2026, subject to moon sighting.

For vulnerable households already struggling with poverty, fasting without access to sufficient food can negatively affect:• Health and nutrition• Mental well-being• Family stability• Participation in worshipThis project helps ease that burden by ensuring access to nutritious iftar meals and essential food support.
